Chhattisgarh situation: Mukesh Chaudhary, a progressive farmer of village Navapali of Barmkela development block of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, has changed the traditional thinking of farming with modern agricultural technology and innovation. By cultivating paddy and chilli through drip method, he is earning income of lakhs of rupees every year and has become an inspiration for the farmers of the area.
In the fields of farmer Mukesh Chaudhary, chillies are being cultivated using the drip method, where controlled amounts of water and nutrients are supplied to the roots of the plants through lateral pipes. This has resulted in significant improvement in both crop quality and production along with water savings.
Deep ploughing, ridge construction and mulching techniques have been adopted in the fields. Due to this, moisture remains for a long time and the problem of weeds is reduced. Planting done scientifically has played an important role in almost doubling the yield of chilli.
Farmer Mukesh Chaudhary, who started farming from two acres of land in 2011, is now doing advanced chilli cultivation in about 12 acres. By combining vegetable production with traditional paddy cultivation, he has made farming a profitable business.

Mukesh Chaudhary was honored with Dr. Khubchand Baghel Krishak Ratna Award by the state government in the year 2021 for adopting innovation, organic and integrated farming in farming. This achievement has established him as an inspirational farmer in the region.
After being appointed as BRC by the Agriculture Department, Mukesh Chaudhary is now giving information about natural farming, organic fertilizer production and seed treatment to the farmers in dozens of nearby villages. His initiative is promoting sustainable and low-cost farming in the area.
