Giving information about this, Pratap Singh Khachariwas said that the dealers have been directed to give free helmets keeping in mind the safety of the two-wheeler driver.

The High Court of Delhi directed the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on Saturday to strictly monitor the manufacture and sale of helmets. Hearing the petition of an NGO, Justice Pratibha M. Singh said, “Given that the safety of the users is at stake, the manufacture and sale of helmets needs strict monitoring and supervision.” The court also directed the BIS to refuse the complaints of the NGO and also file a report. This report should indicate the action taken on the complaints. Also, information about those steps should also be taken by the authority to monitor helmet manufacturing and sales so that the ISI symbol is not misused.
