Kozhikode. Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said that it would be impossible for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections like it did in 2019. Tharoor also claimed that the ruling party could lose “50 seats” in the Lok Sabha elections. MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor was sharing his views at the Kerala Literature Festival here. He said that ‘if you see how well the BJP performed in 2019, they had almost all the seats in Haryana, Gujarat and Rajasthan… Bengal had 18 seats.’
Addressing a session at the festival, Shashi Tharoor said that ‘now it is impossible for the BJP to repeat the result and it is quite possible that the BJP may not get a majority in 2024’. Tharoor clearly said that after the Pulwama terror attack in the last minute before the elections, a tremendous wave had been created in favor of the BJP in the country after the Balakot attack. This incident cannot be repeated in 2024. Tharoor said that the defeat of BJP on 50 seats is completely possible according to the current calculations.
