Prayagraj Railway Board caught 6 illegal vendors selling fake goods in Mahanagari Superfast Express. A fine of Rs 59400 was collected from 92 passengers. Railways appealed to remain alert. It has been said not to buy food from such vendors.
Prayagraj. Indian Railways is continuously taking strict steps to provide safe, clean and better facilities to the passengers. In this series, Prayagraj Railway Board took major action on Friday against illegal vending and those traveling without tickets. Intensive checking was conducted in Chhivki-Mirzapur section of train number 22178 Mahanagari Superfast Express (Varanasi-Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Terminus).
During this time, the team of Chief Ticket Inspector caught 6 unauthorized vendors selling food items in the train. These vendors were selling fake or substandard goods without license, which was a threat to the health of the passengers. All six vendors were immediately arrested and handed over to the Railway Protection Force for further legal action. A large number of irregularities were also found in ticket checking. A total of 92 passengers were found traveling in wrong manner, from whom a fine of Rs 59,400 was collected.
Apart from this, a fine of Rs 32,670 was imposed on 36 passengers traveling without tickets, Rs 26,330 fine was imposed on 53 passengers traveling irregularly (wrong class, over journey etc.), and a fine of Rs 400 was imposed on 3 passengers who littered in the train.
The railway administration has appealed to all the passengers to travel only with valid tickets and not to litter the train and station. Also use dustbin only. Buy food items only from authorized or IRCTC approved vendors. If you see any illegal vendor, immediately inform the railway helpline 139 or inform the nearest railway employee. Railways says that it respects every passenger and wants to give everyone a safe and pleasant travel experience. Such campaigns will continue in future also.
