Rohtas News: District Mining Development Officer Randhir Kumar said that the processes will be completed within the deadline and e-auction of all seven sand ghats will be conducted on the scheduled date on December 22.
Seven sand ghats that were canceled due to illegal mining, transportation and storage in Rohtas district will now be auctioned again. The Mining Department has set a new date for the settlement of these ghats. These ghats for the last five years will be reallocated through e-auction. After which sand excavation can be started as per the prescribed rules. The ghats to be auctioned include Balughat numbers 1, 2, 4, 6, 10, 12 and 15.
According to departmental sources, the auction process of these ghats was started even before this. But, despite five consecutive e-auctions, there was no participation from the tenderers. Due to which the department had to fix a new date. Now the District Mining Office has completed all the preparations. Formalities have been started to conduct the e-auction process smoothly.
Auction starts online on 22nd December
According to the new schedule, bidders will have to deposit the earnest money and auction processing fees by the evening of 16th December. After which the technical tenders will be examined on 20th December. The list of successful bidders will be uploaded on the portal. Based on this process, the final phase of auction will start online from 2 pm on December 22. After completion of the auction, successful bidders will get allotment of the respective sand ghats for five years. The department has fixed the sale fee of tender documents at Rs 5,000. After depositing the fee, interested applicants can download the tender document. Mining Department officials say that this time it is expected that sufficient number of tenderers will participate in the e-auction, which will restore the regular arrangement of sand ghats and ensure controlled and legal mining in the district.
