Rampur: Such a unique sight was seen in Samodia village of Swar Kotwali area that people were surprised. In fact, as soon as the groom’s wedding procession started leaving for Ajitpur, the village head and the BLO stopped the wedding procession for a while, so that the SIR form could be filled before the groom. This step of the village head-BLO became a unique example of awareness in the village.
This initiative is being discussed not only in the area but also on social media. Now this matter is in the headlines even in the media. According to reports, Jasim’s wedding procession was to leave from Samodia village for Ajitpur on Thursday. All the preparations were complete and relatives were dancing to the tune of the DJ. So there, some relatives and wedding guests were standing ready to leave.
Then village head Mohammad Arif Hussain Ansari and BLO Rajinder Singh arrived and said to the groom,
It is important to fill your SIR form before Nikah, so that your name can be registered on time in the special revision campaign of the Election Commission.
The groom filled the form immediately and only after this the wedding procession proceeded towards Ajitpur with pride. This sight proved not only entertaining but also inspiring for the villagers. The villagers and youth greatly praised this initiative of the village head and BLO. They said that
If every officer and public representative fulfills the responsibility in this manner and every citizen fills the form on time, then government processes and election related actions can become more effective and smooth.
The village head said,
We want every citizen of the village to be aware. Getting the SIR form filled before the groom’s marriage is not just a formality but a message of awareness.
This initiative has also been appreciated by the Election Commission. The villagers believe that it is possible to fulfill social and administrative responsibilities even in a big event like a wedding and this message is spreading throughout the village. The process of filling SIR form has been expedited in UP, and under this the responsibility of BLOs and officers has increased.
