Material
for Gatte
Gram flour – 1 cup
Celery – ½ tsp
Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric – ¼ tsp
Salt – as per taste
Oil – 1 tbsp
Water – as per need
for gravy
Curd – 1 cup
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Tomato – 2 finely chopped
Turmeric – ½ tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – ½ tsp
Salt – as per taste
Oil – 2 tbsp
Green Coriander – to garnish
Method of preparation
1. Prepare Gatte
Add celery, salt, turmeric, red chilli and oil to gram flour and mix.
Add water and knead a stiff dough.
Make long sticks of dough and put them in boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes.
After cooking, take them out, cool them and cut them into small pieces.
2. Prepare the gravy
Heat oil in a pan, fry the onion until golden.
Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 1 minute.
Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
Prepare the masala by adding turmeric, red chilli and coriander powder.
Beat the curd and add it and cook on low flame.
Now add gatte and let it cook in gravy for 10 minutes.
Finally add garam masala and green coriander and turn off the gas.
serving method
Serve hot Gatte ki Sabzi with roti, paratha or jeera rice. If you add ghee on top, the taste will double.
healthy tips
To make it with less oil, use non-stick pan.
Beat the curd well so that the gravy becomes smooth.
If you wish, lightly fry the Gatte and add it, this will enhance the taste.
