Ayurvedic Remedies For Kids: Children’s health becomes very bad in cold. Parents also get worried due to constant cough and restlessness. In such times, along with medicines, traditional home remedies mentioned in Ayurveda can also be very helpful.
Winter season brings many health problems for children. Due to cold air, falling temperature and weak immunity, children quickly start complaining of cold, cough and chest tightness. Many times, there is difficulty in breathing, due to which the child is neither able to play properly nor sleep peacefully.
Parents also get worried due to constant cough and restlessness. In such times, along with medicines, traditional home remedies mentioned in Ayurveda can also be very helpful. Ayurveda believes that by maintaining balance of body and mind, problems related to cold can be reduced. Here we are telling you some such remedies.
Take care of mother’s diet
If a child drinks mother’s milk, then the mother’s food directly affects the child’s health. According to Ayurveda, the mother should avoid cold food, spicy and heavy food. Having good digestion also strengthens the child’s immunity.
massage with sesame oil
Sesame oil is considered very beneficial in Ayurveda. It has a warming effect, which helps in reducing chest congestion and mucus. Take lukewarm sesame oil and gently massage the child’s chest, back and arms and legs. This provides warmth to the body and comfort to the child.
Use of betel leaf
Betel leaves have anti-inflammatory properties. Lightly heat a betel leaf, apply sesame oil on it and place it on the child’s chest. Cover with a soft cloth on top. This remedy reduces stiffness caused by cough and cold.
Consumption of nutmeg and dates
Nutmeg and dates keep the body warm from inside in winter. Giving dates soaked in milk, a little dry grapes and a pinch of nutmeg powder to the child provides relief from cough and stiffness and also helps in good sleep.
Doctor’s advice necessary
Breathing or chest problems can be serious in children. Therefore, before adopting any home remedy, definitely consult a pediatrician. With proper care, children can remain healthy even in winter.
