This revelation has shocked the Indian investigative agencies. Because investigation has revealed that this module was plotting to murder Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother and gang handler Anmol Bishnoi.
New Delhi. An arrest in the country’s capital Delhi has exposed the deep nexus between terrorism and organized crime. The Special Cell of Delhi Police has recently busted a module run by Pakistan-based Shehzad Bhatti and arrested three terrorists. The revelations made during the interrogation of these terrorists have become a matter of biggest concern for the Indian investigating agency NIA. During the interrogation of Delhi Police, the three terrorists have revealed that Pakistani ISI wanted Anmol in their fold. However, it is not completely clear yet whether Anmol Bishnoi was also in contact with Pakistani intelligence agency ISI?
Indian investigative agencies have not confirmed that Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi was in direct contact with Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. However, intelligence has revealed that Pakistani gangster Shehzad Bhatti, working at the behest of ISI, was running a major operation against the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Investigation has revealed that under the pressure of ISI, terrorist masterminds like Shehzad Bhatti were planning target killing using criminal groups inside India.
What would have happened if Anmol had not come to India?
Delhi Police has come to know from the arrested terrorists that the target of Shehzad Bhatti gang was Lawrence’s brother Anmol Bishnoi, who has recently been brought to India from America and is currently in the custody of NIA. As soon as the Indian investigative agencies got wind of this, Anmol was extradited from America overnight and brought to India last week.
Did Indian agencies bring Anmol to India?
The revelations of the arrested terrorists have forced the agencies to think deeply and have raised many questions for national security. Earlier gangsters used to have enmity among themselves, but now at the behest of ISI, gangsters and terrorist groups like Babbar Khalsa International are working together. This is a ‘hybrid threat’ for India, in which the boundaries of crime and terrorism are disappearing.
Would Anmol have come in contact with ISI?
Anmol Bishnoi is a high-profile gangster, whose name has come up in cases like Sidhu Moosewala murder case, Baba Siddiqui murder and firing at Salman Khan’s house. By conspiring to assassinate him, Pakistan wanted to directly challenge India’s security system. The arrested terrorists have been caught from states like Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, which shows that this module was recruiting youth across North India and preparing explosive attacks at many places including Delhi-NCR.
Interestingly, Anmol Bishnoi had filed an application in the court through his lawyer on October 27 itself, expressing fear of real threat to his life from Pakistani gangster Shahzad Bhatti. This had forced the agencies to provide bulletproof security and conduct court proceedings at the NIA headquarters itself. This action of Delhi Police is a big blow to the terrorist network, but it is clear that ISI is continuously trying to create instability within the country by using gangster syndicates. Security agencies are now busy breaking all the links of this nexus and uncovering further conspiracies.
