India China Relations: In the meeting of Sujit Ghosh and Liu Jinsong in Beijing, it was agreed to implement the Modi-Xi Tianjin agreements, both the countries resolved to increase mutual trust and cooperation. Both sides made it clear that they are committed to fully implementing the agreements reached between the leaders. Sujit Ghosh, Joint Secretary of the Indian Foreign Ministry and Liu Jinsong, Director General of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, held this meeting on Thursday. Its purpose is to increase mutual trust and move forward by resolving old differences. China has also acknowledged that relations with India are very important.
High-level meeting held in Beijing
Sujit Ghosh, Joint Secretary, East Asia Division of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, met Liu Jinsong, Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Beijing. The Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a press release saying that the two officials held long talks on Thursday. In this, satisfaction was expressed over the recent improvements in the relations between the two countries. This meeting was also special because both the countries are now trying to implement the Tianjin Agreement.
Implementation of Modi-Xi agreements
The main agenda of the meeting was the agreement reached between PM Modi and President Xi Jinping during the SCO summit held in Tianjin in August. Both sides have promised to fully implement those ‘important shared agreements’. Officials admitted that the meeting between the top leadership has given a new direction to relations. Now progress will be made on the basis of the same guidance so that there is stability in relationships.
Meeting with Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister
Later Sujit Ghosh also met Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Weidong. During this, Weidong said that the Tianjin meeting of PM Modi and President Jinping was very successful. This has shown the way to take China-India relations to a ‘new level’. He expressed hope that both the countries will adopt a comprehensive approach and build mutual trust. China wants both countries to make concerted efforts and advance cooperation.

The Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister said that the two countries should respect each other and ‘properly manage’ differences. According to the release, India also said that relations with China are very important. Sujit Ghosh assured that India is ready to work together with China under the strategic guidance of its leaders.
