How to prepare for JEE exam?
Anil Kapasi has given a 6-step strategy to be successful in JEE Main 2026. If you want, you can fulfill your dream of admission in IIT by following this.
1. Realistic study plan is important
A good plan does not mean long hours, but balanced progress. Evaluate your current level, strengths and weaknesses. Divide your day into focused slots for each subject. Keep morning time for difficult subjects (like Physics or Mathematics) and evening time for light or theory-based chapters. Set small weekly goals – like completing a chapter or solving a set test paper.
2. Understand the importance of revision and mock tests
Reading any chapter just once is not enough. Make a habit of revising what you read the previous day. Review all the subjects once a week. Attempt mock tests regularly. This will help in understanding JEE exam pattern and improving time management. After every test, analyze your mistakes and correct them immediately. Regular practice increases accuracy and confidence.
3. Focus on quality, not quantity
Success does not depend on how many hours you study, but on how well and attentively you study. What matters is understanding the concepts deeply, practicing different types of problems and connecting ideas. Use techniques like Pomodoro (reading for 25 to 50 minutes and taking a short break). Remember, 4 hours of focused study is more productive than 10 hours of distracted study.
4. Things will be done through time management
In today’s digital world, phones and social media are the biggest enemies. Keep your phone separate or on silent mode while studying. Create a quiet and organized place to study. Time management means establishing the right balance between school, coaching and self-study. Don’t burden yourself with meaningless goals. Instead, follow a routine that ensures stable progress.
5. Take care of your health also
To be successful in JEE, it is important to have a healthy body and mind. To keep the brain active, take adequate sleep (7-8 hours), take care of a balanced diet and stay hydrated. Avoid studying till late night, so that you will not feel tired the next day. Talk to teachers or parents if you have concerns or frustrations. Don’t compare your progress with others. Everyone’s learning speed is different.
6. The secret of success is hidden in positivity
Success in JEE is not achieved overnight. This is the result of hundreds of focused days. It is normal to score low in JEE mock test or get stuck on some question. What matters most is that you don’t give up. Don’t worry about being perfect. Study every day with determination. Over time, every small effort you make will turn into big results.
Remember, even the most difficult goals can be easily achieved with the right mindset, clear planning and consistent effort.
