Here children not only get free education, but also get many facilities including discipline, hostel facilities, sports, NCC, personality development at the government’s expense. But experts say that often due to some small mistakes, children fail in the examination, even though they are eligible. Therefore, right direction and preparation from the beginning is very important. Anjesh Kumar, an experienced teacher of Navodaya House Coaching Institute located in Jhiltola, Purnia, said that the entrance examination of Navodaya and Sainik School is certainly difficult, but by adopting the right strategy any child can pass it.
Starting early is the biggest key
According to teacher Anjesh Kumar, if the goal is a government residential school, then the child’s preparation should start from class 3 itself. He said that at this age the foundation of the child’s mathematics, reasoning, general knowledge and English should be strengthened. During this period, parents should also pay special attention to their child’s studies and daily routine. He also said that the mental development of small children is not yet complete, hence they get nervous during the examination, due to which they give wrong answers even after knowing the correct answer. In such a situation, parents should make them emotionally strong.
Mock test and time management are most important
Anjesh Kumar tells that at least one month before the examination, make children practice one or two model sets daily. This improves time management. Children’s self-confidence increases and they are able to identify their weaknesses and improve them. He said that when the child practices the set again and again, he will not have any fear of the real exam and he will be able to solve the questions easily.
Parental support is mandatory
According to the teacher, parents should keep praising the child. Along with monitoring studies, mental support should also be provided. He said that do not depend only on coaching or school. Home environment and parental involvement are the biggest keys to success. In the end, he advised that if children have a balanced routine, discipline and self-confidence along with a competitive spirit, then they will definitely achieve success in Navodaya and Sainik Entrance Examination.
