Share Market Holiday: Investors will get less opportunities to trade in the stock market next week because it will be a short trading week. Actually, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain closed on Thursday on Christmas Day. This will give investors a short break between active trading periods at the end of the year.
According to exchange data, trading in equity, equity derivatives and Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB) segments will remain closed on both BSE and NSE on December 25. Trading will resume normally from the next day, Friday, December 26.
What is the schedule for next week?
Like every time, the stock markets are going to be closed on Saturday and Sunday due to the weekend. This means that apart from Saturday and Sunday, Christmas is the only officially declared stock market holiday in December. This means that without any break this month, stock market investors got plenty of opportunities to place bets.
In the trading week between December 22 and December 26, markets will open on Monday, December 22 and run as normal until Wednesday, December 24, then close on Thursday for Christmas. Trading will resume on Friday, December 26, after which it will be closed for the regular weekend.
Regarding Christmas, both the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq have said that trading will close early on Christmas Eve on December 24 at 1 pm local time, while there will be a full trading session on December 26.
last week’s business
In the last trading session, Indian stock markets closed in the red. BSE Sensex fell 13.71 points or 0.02 percent to close at 85,706.67. At the same time, NSE Nifty slipped 12.60 points or 0.05 percent and settled at 26,202.95. With this the two-day bullish trend was broken. This week, amidst mixed global signals and valuation concerns, investors remained cautious and placed their bets very carefully.
