Araria: Plowing of fields has always been a big challenge for the farmers cultivating wheat and maize in Araria district of Bihar. Especially when it comes to plowing fields with a tractor, the first question is about the expense. So let us know how much money a farmer spends in preparing the fields and how much is spent on plowing the fields with a tractor.
Mayanand Yadav, a tractor owner from Araria district, while talking to Local 18, told how much chasing should a farmer do to prepare the wheat and maize fields by ploughing. According to Mayanand Yadav, farmers can get it done for wheat fields in 4-5 hours. Whereas for maize fields, farmers can do 5-6 chaas.
Mayanand told that different types of plowing are done with tractors. In this, farmers do the plowing at their own level, plowing using tractor plow and rotavator. After this, posts are set up in the fields, due to which the fields are prepared.
According to Mayanand Yadav, a tractor owner of Araria district, it costs Rs 1200 for one chaas. Whereas it takes approximately Rs 3800-4000 to prepare the entire wheat fields. It costs approximately Rs 4200-4300 to plow maize fields. He told that the farmers here get the plowing done as per their own and the chaas as per their own. He told that some farmers get only 4-5-6 chaas done.
According to Mayanand Yadav, we prepare about 12-15 acres of fields by plowing them every day. He told that out of Rs 4500 per acre of land, the tractor owner’s expenses are around Rs 2500-3000. This includes diesel and driver’s wages. He told that the tractor owner saves more than Rs 1500 per acre of land.
