This whole black business came to light when, for the first time on October 18, cough syrup containing codein worth crores was found in packets of chips and namkeen in Sonbhadra district of UP. The police also arrested 3 people in this case at that time. After this, cough syrup worth crores was recovered in Ghaziabad also on 4th November. The strings of both these cases were linked to Shubham Jaivasal of Varanasi. Case registered against 28 people from 27 firms
On November 15, the 11th day after the case was registered in Ghaziabad, the Food Safety and Drug Administration team registered a case against 28 people from 27 firms, including Shubham Jaiswal’s firm Sally Traders, at the Kotwali police station in Varanasi. During this time, information came that 89 lakh cough syrup bottles worth Rs 100 crore were bought and sold from Shubham’s firm.
Police Commissioner formed SIT
On November 18, Varanasi Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal formed SIT in this case. This team consists of three people who are investigating this matter. The chairman of this SIT team is DCP Crime Saravanan T, in whose investigation it has become clear that these syrups have been supplied to Bangladesh. On November 22, the senior officers of the Food Safety and Drug Administration team considered the role of the department in this whole game as suspicious, because in the investigation it started coming to light that many of the firms to which cough syrup worth crores were sold were running only on paper, in which the officers were also complicit. Congress state president Ajay Rai had also raised the demand for investigation.
On November 27, Lucknow STF team arrested Amit Singh Tata in this case. Amit Singh Tata is close to Shubham Jaiswal and has also been involved in its black business. Amit Tata is also close to former Jaunpur MP Bahubali Dhananjay Singh. On the other hand, Amit Tata was arrested in Lucknow and a case was registered against 12 more firms in Varanasi on the same day.
Bahubali connection came to light
On November 28, the strongman Dhananjay Singh connection of this case also came to light, because the number of the Fortuner car which Lucknow STF had recovered from Amit Singh Tata was 9777. Dhananjay Singh also has a car of the same number series. Apart from this, many pictures of Amit Tata with Dhananjay Singh also started appearing. On this very day, during the interrogation of Amit Tata, this information also came to light that Shubham Jaivasal is hiding in Dubai.
Former MP Dhananjay gave clarification
On November 29, former Bahubali MP Dhananjay Singh came forward in this matter through social media. He shared a post on Facebook and also gave clarification in this matter. In this post, he demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Yogi Adityanath to investigate the entire matter by CBI.
Shubham’s father arrested from Kolkata
On November 30, Shubham Jaiswal’s father Bhola Prasad was arrested in this case. Sonbhadra Police of UP arrested Bhola Prasad from Kolkata Airport. Bhola Prasad was also planning to run away abroad. At present, Sonbhadra police is taking Bhola on remand and interrogating him. On December 2, dismissed STF constable Alok Singh was arrested in this case. Alok was also arrested in Lucknow. Alok Singh is also said to be close to Dhananjay Singh. During interrogation, Alok also revealed many secrets of this case.
ED registered a case
ED entered this case on 3 December. ED team filed a case against Shubham Jaiswal. Along with this, his team also reached both the houses of Shubham Jaiswal in Varanasi and pasted notices. During this, Shubham’s mother came forward and she kept avoiding the media cameras. On December 5, a video of Shubham Jaiswal, the mastermind of this entire game, has surfaced. In this video of 12 minutes 33 seconds, Shubham declared himself innocent. He raised questions on the officers of Food Safety and Drug Administration and asked the opposition people not to do politics in this matter. Shubham said in clarification that the case of death of children in Madhya Pradesh is not related to this case. Both are different matters. On the same day, the Lucknow SIT team interrogated the house of Shubham’s chartered accountant Vishnu Aggarwal for hours.
