A woman from Palasi village has accused 8 people including Mohammad Alam in Araria Civil Court of kidnapping, exploitation and forced religious conversion. The court ordered a police investigation.
Satish Kumar/Araria: A case of kidnapping, physical abuse and forced religious conversion of a woman has come to light in Palasi village of Araria district. The victim, a resident of Forbesganj, filed a complaint in Araria Civil Court against 8 people including Mohammad Alam of Narpatganj. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the court registered an FIR and directed the Forbesganj police station to investigate. The woman has made many serious allegations. The victim’s lawyer said that the agency in the border area is active in converting Hindus into Christians, Sikhs or Muslims.
The woman alleged that the accused forcibly kidnapped her in the car and kept her hostage for several months. During this time, they were taken to places like Bhimpur, Veerpur, Saharsa and Delhi and physically exploited. The main accused Mohammad Alam pressurized him to convert to Muslim religion. The victim somehow escaped from the clutches and reached the court with her husband.
Gangs active in border area
The victim’s lawyer KN Vishwas said that many agencies in the border area are active in converting Hindus into Christians, Sikhs or Muslims. The accused in this case may be associated with a similar network. During the appearance in the court, the judge took immediate action and issued instructions to the police. Now the police station chief will have to record the statement of the victim and start searching for the accused.

While talking, the victim woman said that the accused were continuously torturing her and forcing her to change her religion. She is a resident of Palasi village. Is connected to Forbesganj area.
