-hard coal
-Water
-hard bar soap
-5 drops kerosene
-one packet citric acid
-A capful of glycerine or liquid paraffin
Step by step method of making shoe polish-
1. Grind coal
First of all grind hard coal very finely. The softer and more uniform the powder, the better the polish will be.
2. Sieve the powder
Sieve the coal powder through a strainer used in the kitchen. This will separate the coarse particles and make the polish completely smooth.
3. Measure one to one and a half glasses of water
You will need about one and a half glasses of water.
4. Cut Hard Bar Soap
Use only hard bar soap for shoe polish. Cut a small square of soap into four parts and use only one of them.
5. Dissolve soap in water
Cut this quarter soap into small pieces and put it in water and let it dissolve well.
6. Now add coal powder
Mix two glasses of sifted coal powder in dissolved soap. Keep stirring the mixture well.
7. Cook the mixture
Now heat this mixture on low flame and keep stirring continuously till it boils, so that it does not form lumps.
8. Remove from heat
When it boils, remove the pan from the flame.
9. Mix kerosene
Now add five drops of kerosene in it and keep stirring well. It makes the polish smooth and shiny.
10. Add citric acid and glycerin
After two minutes, add one sachet of citric acid and one capful of glycerin or liquid paraffin. Both these things make the polish durable and shiny.
Use it like this-Now put it in a vessel. Let the mixture set for four hours before using it. Use it just like store-bought shoe polish.
