Termite insects that can unknowingly engulf the entire house. Most of the people are troubled by termite infestation in everything from walls, furniture to clothes and belongings. When termites get infested in something, it becomes very difficult to get rid of them. Vinegar-lemon juice spray: Add two teaspoons of white vinegar and two teaspoons of lemon juice in a spray bottle and mix well. Spray this mixture wherever termites or other insects are seen. The acetic acid present in vinegar and the citric acid present in lemon help in preventing insects from coming near. For better results use this spray daily for a few days.
Termites cannot tolerate heat and direct sunlight at all. Therefore, furniture infested with termites should be kept in the sun for two-three days. Due to this, termites start getting eliminated. It is most effective to do this during the summer season. Exposing the furniture to sunlight two-four times a year keeps the wood strong.

Termites can also be removed by using petroleum jelly (Vaseline). Applying a thick layer of Vaseline on termite affected wood reduces the exposure to air, due to which the termites are gradually eliminated.
Another great home remedy is clove oil. Mix three drops of clove oil in half a cup of water and spray it on the termite affected area. Its strong smell and natural chemicals kill insects instantly.
