Sultanpur News: Sultanpur has not only been a witness to the British rule, but it has also seen the Mughal rule very closely, a living example of which is the ancient gate located in Hasanpur village, which is now in ruins and through which Sher Shah Suri had entered about 500 years ago. As a guest in the Hasanpur state, he was staying in the king’s fort for 19 days. According to Kunwar Masood Ali, the last and 20th descendant of the Hasanpur state, Sher Shah Suri came to Sultanpur around 1540. Sher Shah Suri did not come alone, but with his entire army consisting of elephants, horses and thousands of soldiers, he entered through this gate located on the south side of Hasanpur Fort, which is now known as Imambara. However, definite proof of the year is not available.
