How To Grow Gudhal At Home: With the arrival of winter, hibiscus flowers in the garden often begin to fade and the leaves turn yellow and fall. If you have a hibiscus plant planted on the balcony, garden or terrace of your house, then now you do not need to worry during the cold season. If you want your hibiscus plant to remain full of buds even in this winter, then you just have to use these two fertilizers made from waste materials. The biggest challenge for the hibiscus tree in winter is the lack of sunlight. In this season, keep the tree in a place where it gets direct sunlight throughout the day. If the tree remains in the shade, photosynthesis will slow down, fewer buds will form and leaves will turn yellow and fall. At least 6-7 hours of sunlight is necessary for the hibiscus tree in winter.
Avoid over watering
There is less evaporation in winter, so the soil does not dry out quickly. Water the lower part of the plant only when the upper 1-2 inches of soil in the pot dries completely. Excessive watering can cause roots to rot and fungus to grow. Keep the soil of the plant moist during cold weather, do not let it get too wet.
Light weeding once a week
To maintain air circulation in the potted soil, do light weeding once a week. Due to this, oxygen reaches the roots and excess moisture trapped in the soil is removed. Weeding keeps the soil loose and the roots of the plant healthy, which is necessary for the growth of flowers. Avoid heavy pruning in the winter months of December and January. Due to this the growth of the tree slows down. Remove only dead, blackened or diseased branches. It is best to wait until February or March to prune.
This fertilizer is the best
Mustard husk is the best fertilizer for hibiscus plants in winter. It increases warmth in the soil. Soak mustard husk in water for 3-4 days, then mix it with plain water 10 times to make thin liquid fertilizer. Applying it once a month will bring new life to the plant and it will bloom in abundance.
Do this work to increase the number of flowers
Potassium is necessary to increase the number of flowers and prevent bud drop. For this you can use dried banana peel powder or onion peel water. This is an excellent organic fertilizer, which increases the size of flowers and deepens their color, apply it once every 20 days.
