Greater Noida News: Bisrakh Police in Greater Noida has exposed a hi-tech fraud gang, which used to trap people by luring them to double the money in betting. After winning the trust through note counting machine, flat and trolley bag, the accused used to disappear the real notes and keep the bundles of papers through the secret hole made under the bed.
Greater Noida: Bisrakh police has busted a gang of hi-tech swindlers who were extorting lakhs of rupees from people on the pretext of doubling their money in betting. The mastermind of this entire fraud is 24-year-old Indramani alias Raja, whose IT background and technical understanding had made this gang highly organized and dangerous. Police investigation revealed that Indramani himself prepared every plan, every location and the entire script of the fraud.
Central Zone DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi said that the gang used to make a strategy to win the trust of any victim before targeting him. The victim would be called to a flat, where gang members were already present as customers. A note counting machine was run in the room so that the atmosphere seemed completely real and safe. The original notes given by the victim would be counted on the machine, so that he would not suspect any fraud. After this, a trolley bag was brought which was already filled with bundles of papers. To ensure proper weight and appearance, two-four real notes were placed on top.
This is how they used to commit fraud
The most shocking technique of fraud was related to a secret hole made in the throne. According to the police, a person used to sit under the throne. As soon as the victim would place the real notes on the throne, the accused sitting above would slide those notes down while engaging in conversation. The person sitting below would immediately load the bundles of papers with a note stuck on them into the bag. In this way the victim felt that his money was being doubled and kept in the bag.
6 lakh cash recovered
On the complaint of a victim, Bisrakh police formed a special team and chased the gang on the basis of technical input. Police conducted a raid yesterday i.e. on 11th December and arrested six accused Shubham Tiwari, Navneet Singh, Ishtiaq alias Raja, Gaurav Gupta, Ritesh Kumar and Chanchal. Rs 6 lakh in cash, note counting machine, fake documents, two vehicles and a large quantity of paper bundles were recovered from their possession. The police is now thoroughly investigating their old cases also.
