Sultanpur: In this world, only those people are often discussed who live either on the throne or on the floor. Some proverbs have also been prevalent for a long time, like the king and the pauper, the poor and the rich, the king and the fakir. Often, when we hear the name of a king, what comes to our mind is that he would have an estate of several hundred bighas.
He would have all the wealth, land and property, but today we are going to talk about a king of Sultanpur, whose kingdom once extended up to Gaya in Bihar. That dynasty family, which had a principality of about 450 kilometers, is still present today in the form of its last king, but this king, not just four hundred and fifty kilometers, but has come to be called the poorest king of India. Let us know how this king became poor.
Hasanpur State of Sultanpur
Sultanpur district of UP has seen the era of British rule as well as Mughal rule. Talking about the princely states and kings, there were many kings in the district, like Kudwar King, Diara State and Amethi King. Apart from this, there were small princely states, but the biggest state was Hasanpur State, whose history has been quite glorious.
The empire of Hasanpur State once extended from Sultanpur to Gaya in Bihar. During the time of Sher Shah Suri, Hasanpur State also got the title of Second King of India. However, today only ruins are left in the Hasanpur state and its last king Kunwar Masood Ali is living with his family in this ruined palace. The financial condition of the king of such a big state is today on the verge of collapse.
The empire spread from Sultanpur to Gaya and Bihar.
While talking to Local 18, Kunwar Masood tells that King Trilokchand of Hasanpur state had accepted Islam, after which he came to be known as Tatar Khan. Kunwar Masood Ali’s descendant was Raja Mohammad Ali Khan, who passed away from this world in 1952. Kunwar Masood says that he is from the lineage of Prithviraj, whose rule extended from Sultanpur to Gaya in Bihar.
Let us tell you that Babar had made King Trilokchand accept Islam. In the battle of Panipat between Babar and Ibrahim Lodi in 1526, Raja Trilokchand of Hasanpur participated in the war on behalf of Ibrahim Lodi. Babar had killed Ibrahim Lodi in this war. When Babar encountered King Trilokchand, Babar asked why he did not run away, to which he replied that a Kshatriya never takes a blow on the back. However, Babar forced Trilokchand to accept Islam by threatening him. Kunwar Masood says that we have been Kshatriyas in the past. Therefore Lord Ram also belongs to our lineage.
Now the situation is bad
The king of Hasanpur state is no longer a king but is living a normal life. Kunwar Masood Ali, descendant of Hasanpur princely state, has seven sons and two daughters. One son is studying law, one son does business and the other son is doing ITI. Kunwar Masood Ali leads a simple life. He neither has any four-wheeler nor any glamor like a king.
