Benefits of raw turmeric: According to retired District Ayurveda Officer of Sirohi, Dr. Damodar Prasad Chaturvedi, consumption of raw turmeric in winter helps in increasing immunity and preventing diseases. Antioxidants like curcumin are found in turmeric. It can be taken in the form of vegetable, milk, pulses or capsules. Turmeric keeps the body warm, reduces inflammation and infection. Doctor’s advice is necessary before consumption in summer season or for allergic and serious patients.

High temperatures during the day and extremely low temperatures at night are making people ill. To stay healthy in such weather, consuming raw turmeric at home can help a lot in boosting immunity and keeping diseases away.

Raw turmeric is consumed more in winter from November to February March. This vegetable is consumed more in winter. Haldi party is also organized at many places in Rajasthan. It is also included in the menu as a special dish in hotels and restaurants.
