This recipe, prepared with ingredients like sesame, jaggery and ghee, is not only excellent in taste, but also has many health benefits, which make it special in the winter diet.
Taste is hidden in simplicity, according to housewife Manisha Devi, not many ingredients are required to make these laddus. It requires one cup white or black sesame seeds, half cup jaggery (broken or grated) and about a quarter cup desi ghee as main ingredients. Apart from this, cardamom powder and grated dry coconut or finely chopped almonds and cashews can also be added as per taste. Keep in mind that the jaggery should be fresh and of good quality, because this is the main source of sweetness and nutrition of laddus.
Housewife Manisha Devi told that to make nutritious sesame laddus, firstly roast the sesame seeds in a pan on low flame till they turn golden. Then cool them and grind them lightly or crush them coarsely. After this, heat ghee in the same pan and add jaggery to it and melt it. Once the jaggery melts, add roasted sesame seeds, cardamom powder and dry fruits to it. After mixing well, turn off the gas, now let the mixture cool slightly and apply ghee on your hands and immediately make laddus while it is still lukewarm. When they cool completely, keep them in an airtight container.

In winter, these laddus can be consumed with breakfast in the morning or as a laddu in the afternoon. Apart from eating it directly, it can also be taken with milk, which further increases its nutritional value. However, keep in mind that it is full of energy, so do not eat more than one or two laddus a day. One should avoid eating it at night, as it can cause digestive problems, it is more appropriate to eat it as a part of a balanced diet.
According to Ayurvedic doctor Yogesh Kumar, sesame laddus are beneficial, but diabetic patients should be cautious about the quantity of jaggery or should consult a doctor. People who have a hot nature or suffer from bile problems should eat them in small quantities only. Also, do not burn sesame seeds and jaggery too much while making laddus. This traditional dish is not only a treasure of taste but also of health, which not only enhances the beauty of our plate in winter but also keeps us healthy.
