Fake Train Ticket News- This news is special for those traveling by train. You may unknowingly become a victim of ticket fraud and have to go to jail. Railways has caught one such gang in Mumbai. An FIR has been lodged against him. Railways has told how to avoid this problem.

Indian Railways has busted a gang which used to make fake train tickets and sell them to people. TTE investigated and caught the woman traveling on a fake ticket and lodged an FIR against her. Railways has told how to avoid this problem.
Traveling TTE Vishal Navale of Mumbai Division of Central Railway checked the ticket of a lady passenger during routine checking in Kalyan-Dadar AC local. He showed a UTS generated season ticket for travel in AC local, bearing UTS number X06YDZG055 for travel from Ambernath to Dadar, the validity of which was expiring on 11 December 2025.
Upon closer inspection they found the ticket suspicious. After verification it was discovered that the ticket was fake and had been created from an earlier expired ticket. The woman traveling on this ticket was identified as Gudiya Sharma. Necessary action was handed over to GRP Kalyan.
Later investigation revealed that the fake season ticket was made by her husband Omkar Sharma and given to her for use. An FIR has been registered against both the persons under sections 318/4, 336/2, 336/3, 340 and 3/5 of the Indian Code of Justice Act 2023 (BNS) for being involved in fraudulent ticketing activities. In this way, due to the vigilance of Vishal Navale, a fake ticket racket has been busted.
This is how travelers can avoid fraud
Central Railway has appealed to the passengers to travel only with valid tickets issued by authorized vendors or purchased from railway station booking counters or through ATVM. Passengers can also download the UTS app on their mobile phones and book tickets through the mobile UTS app. In such a case, the punishment can be imprisonment up to 7 years or both along with fine.
