Coconut Oil Melting Tips: As the cold weather approaches, it becomes common for coconut oil to freeze. Especially for those who use it regularly, it sometimes becomes difficult to extract oil from the bottle. Due to solidification, people try to take it out forcefully, due to which the oil may get wasted or the cap of the bottle may break. Many times people put it directly on fire or in hot water, which can be dangerous for plastic bottles. YouTuber Amarjeet Kaur has given an easy and safe solution to this problem. Their method is so simple that you can thaw your frozen coconut oil in just 5 minutes without any hassle. Apart from this, there are some other home remedies by which you can heat the oil safely. This recipe is not only quick and easy, but also preserves the quality of the oil.
Now you do not need to spend hours trying to extract coconut oil. Whether you use it at home or while traveling, these methods will solve your everyday problems instantly.
1. The safe ‘glass hot bath’ method
-This method of Amarjeet Kaur is the safest and easiest. For this you have to heat water in a vessel. The water should be so hot that you can touch it comfortably with your hand, but not boiling. Now pour this hot water in a strong glass or mug.
-Stand the coconut oil bottle with the lid upright in this glass. The oil will melt completely in 3 to 5 minutes. The water in the glass gives off heat evenly around the bottle and the oil remains safe.
2. Melting with the warmth of the palms
-If there is only a small amount of oil accumulated and you need it immediately, the hand method is the easiest. Press the bottle between your palms and rub gently. The heat generated from this heats the bottle from all sides and the oil starts melting.
-This method proves to be very useful especially during travel or when time is short.
3. ‘Hot Water Bowl’
This method is similar to the glass hot bath, but is better for larger sized bottles or tins. Take medium hot water in a wide vessel or bowl and place the oil bottle or tin in it without opening the lid. The heat and steam of the water slowly melts the oil.
4. Use of hair dryer
If you have a hair dryer, set it on medium or low heat. Keep the dryer vent about 6 inches away from the bottle. Always keep the air moving, so that the oil melts evenly. Do not keep it too close or on high heat, otherwise the plastic may get damaged.
5. Wrapping with warm cloth or towel
If you want to melt the oil slowly but safely, take a thin cloth or towel soaked in lukewarm water. Squeeze it well and wrap it around the bottle. If you want, you can also wrap a dry towel on top, which will retain heat.
6. Important tips
-Do not keep the plastic bottle directly on fire.
-Overheating the oil can affect its aroma and properties.
-If you are melting oil frequently, it is better to keep it in smaller containers.
-The method using hands or towel is the safest during travel.
