Malaysia’s UMNO Youth Chief and famous doctor Datuk Dr. Akmal Saleh is in the news all over the world these days. The reason is his heart which turned out to be bigger than the dream of Haj. Dr. Akmal and his wife had been saving every penny for years so that they could perform the holy Haj pilgrimage in 2026. Both of them had deposited a total of 126,000 Malaysian Ringgit i.e. about 26,57,000 Indian Rupees. But even after this both of them could not go on Haj pilgrimage.
Tickets, accommodation and food for both of them had all been planned. But everything changed on the evening of 11 December. Dr. Akmal came to know that in his area a 2 year old innocent girl named Madina was suffering from serious congenital liver disease. Its treatment is not possible in Malaysia. Surgery can be done only in a specialist hospital in China. The total cost of treatment was more than 1.5 lakh ringgit. In such a situation, the doctor canceled his Haj pilgrimage and donated all the money for the treatment of the girl.

The girl’s parents were poor, they were raising funds, but were not able to deposit the money. Dr. Akmal reached the girl’s house. He took Madina in his lap, saw tears in the eyes of her parents and decided right there that he would get a greater virtue than Haj by saving the life of a girl. Without wasting a moment he transferred the entire amount. His wife also completely agreed with his noble deed.

But the life of an innocent person can be saved only once. When I saw Madina, I felt – if I go on Haj and this girl is not saved, I will never be able to forgive myself. Allah is the greatest, only He will reward us. This post went viral. In 24 hours it got more than 5 lakh likes and 2 lakh shares.
