Patna : Give the patient another cancer! Yes, such a rare case has come to light in IGIMS, Patna, the capital of Bihar, which has shocked the doctor as well as the patient’s family members. Actually, a 56-year-old patient resident of Nawada had earlier reached the hospital only for the treatment of oral cancer, but what came out during the investigation was shocking. The patient had cancer in not one but two different organs. The patient was completely unaware of this. He felt that cancer had spread only in his mouth.
Give the patient another cancer!
Let us tell you that this patient was suffering from oral cancer for three months. Despite treatment in many hospitals, the situation was worsening. Ultimately he reached IGIMS, Patna. When a thorough investigation was done here, it was found that along with cancer in the left maxilla (upper jaw), a different type of cancer had also developed in the right kidney. Biopsy confirmed two different types of cancer in both the organs.
Surgery lasted for 4 hours
At the same time, the condition of the patient was very serious. Both cancers had reached the fatal stage. In this complex surgery which lasted for about 4 hours, plastic surgery of the patient’s jaw was also done. Besides, the operation of the right kidney was also successful. It is a matter of relief that the patient is now completely healthy.
