This step certainly increases the challenges for Indian tech talent, but experts consider it to be only a temporary hindrance. Indian professionals remain in demand across the world as their skills and cost-effectiveness remain at the forefront. Despite the strict visa rules in America, other countries and global companies are increasingly attracting Indian talent.
New Delhi. The recent tightening of H-1B visa rules in the US has raised concerns among Indian tech professionals, but Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu considers it only a ‘temporary setback’. He says that the skill, quality and affordable services of Indian experts will attract companies from all over the world back to India. Naidu said that the global demand for Indian talent is so strong that no policy change can affect it in the long run.
Concern increases over US visa fee hike
The US has decided to impose an additional fee of $1 lakh on new H-1B visa applications from September 21, 2025, which will increase huge financial pressure on tech companies. Initially, President Donald Trump described this as a step to prevent misuse of the program, but later he admitted that America does not have enough talent for many specialized roles and it needs foreign experts. Meanwhile, states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana still supply the most tech talent to America, so these new rules will directly impact these states.
‘Temporary setback’, but opportunities will increase: Naidu
Naidu says that some professionals may face immediate problems, but this crisis will also open doors to new opportunities. Rapid investment is being made in India in emerging areas like 4G tech stack, satellites, drone technology, quantum computing and AI, which will create new jobs for workers. He clearly said that the state government will support the affected tech professionals if needed and will provide them new roles in modern technology based industries.
Global companies are changing strategies, India becomes a big hub
After America’s strict visa policy, many countries like Canada, Australia, UK and Europe are trying to attract Indian tech experts. Especially in areas like AI, Cloud and Cyber Security, India’s skills are being liked the most across the world. Industry analysts say many global companies are now hiring talent through remote work or local engineering hubs in India. The rapid pace of digital transformation has further strengthened the demand for Indian experts, due to which India’s tech talent is maintaining its hold in the global market despite H-1B rules.
