Faridabad: When Gurjar Mahotsav 2025 started at Surajkund Fair complex in Faridabad, the atmosphere was different. The three-day long festival was inaugurated by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Rajesh Nagar by lighting the lamp. This time too everything happened with full pomp and tradition. The cultural heritage of Gurjar community, folk art, traditional food and their identity all came out openly here.
Glimpses related to Gurjar culture
Wherever you look in the fair, there were traditional huts, colorful handicrafts and glimpses of Gurjar culture. Every stall was showing something different. The sound of drums and enthusiasm of folk dance had transformed the entire complex into a big festival. Lakhs of people gathered on the very first day.
People have come from all over the country and abroad
Talking to Local18, Gurjar Art Culture founder Randeep Chauhan said that this festival is being organized with the same enthusiasm for the fourth year. This time 133 stalls were set up, out of which 64 different organizations got it. Randeep told that the Gurjar community is not only spread in India but also in Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Australia and people from these countries also participated this time. He said that the purpose of the festival is to bring back old traditions, customs and culture so that the new generation can recognize their roots.

Randeep also touched upon the history of Gurjar community. He told that in 836 AD the Gurjar empire spread from Afghanistan to Pakistan and Bangladesh. At that time, gold and silver currencies were in circulation and the society had created its own special identity during the reign of Emperor Mihir Bhoj. The aim of this festival is to tell these things and show people their glorious history.
Art-culture shown through stalls
People who came to the fair also shared their experiences openly. Khushboo Ronyal, who came from Nepal, had come with her family and said that it was very nice to see the fair. Her husband Vishal was also greatly impressed by the culture and simplicity of this place. Hitendra Tedha of Delhi waits for this fair every year. He said that this time the number of stalls is also more and the traditions have been displayed very well. Manoj Nagar of Greater Noida said that attention has also been given to education and health and the traditions of Gurjar community have come to the fore through art-culture.
