Addiya Pak
This nutritious dish is made to provide energy to homes at the beginning of cold season and keep the body warm from inside. Made primarily of coarsely ground urad dal flour, pure ghee and some sweet substance like jaggery or sugar, it is enriched with a mixture of warm spices (like ginger, cardamom and nutmeg) and various dry fruits and gum. Gundar Pak – famous sweet of Gujarat
Gundar Pak, also known as Gond Pak or edible gum fudge, is a traditional and extremely nutritious Gujarati sweet. It is especially popular during the winter months due to its warming properties and many health benefits like increasing energy, stamina and relieving joint and back pain. Its main ingredient is “Gundar” (edible gum resin obtained from acacia trees), which is fried in ghee until it puffs up. It is then mixed with other nutritious ingredients such as wheat flour, jaggery (or sugar), ghee, and nuts and spices such as ginger powder, cardamom and nutmeg.
