New Delhi. The 44th important meeting of the GST Council is going to be held today under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. During the Corona period, many important decisions are expected to be stamped in this meeting. According to the information received from the officials, in this a decision will be taken regarding reduction in GST rates on essential commodities related to Kovid.
The meeting will be attended by Anurag Thakur, Minister of State for Finance and Finance Ministers of the States and Union Territories along with senior officials of the Central and State Governments. The Union Finance Ministry gave this information by tweeting on Friday.

These important decisions were taken in the last meetingLet us inform that in the last meeting held on 28 May, it was decided to constitute a Group of Ministers to provide tax relief on essential items related to Kovid including PPE kits, masks and vaccines. Significantly, the GoM has submitted its report on June 7.

Tax may be fixed on the medicine of corona vaccine black fungus
It is believed that the finance ministers of some states have advocated a rate cut on essential items related to Kovid. Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said on Wednesday that the state government is in favor of cutting taxes on essential items related to Kovid for the convenience of patients. However, it will accept the decision of the GST Council with regard to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates.
Relief material related to corona includes medical oxygen, oxygen concentrator, oxygen cylinder, mask and medicine for black fungus etc., which are to be decided today.
