Muzaffarpur. In order to get rid of the problem of increasing traffic pressure and jam in the urban areas of Muzaffarpur, the district administration has implemented color coding system for auto and e-rickshaw totos from Saturday. Under this new system, the entire urban area has been divided into four zones, so that vehicles can operate on fixed routes and disorderly movement can be stopped.
Color coding according to zone
In the zones created by the administration, Zone-1 has been coded in orange color, Zone-2 in purple color, Zone-3 in light red color and Zone-4 in light brown color. Including these four zones, a total of 20 different routes have been determined in the urban area. A total of 4800 autos will run on these routes. Of these, 4200 autos have been allotted routes by color coding them as passenger autos, while 600 autos have been kept in reserve.
Reserve system for rural areas
The arrangement for reserved autos has been made especially keeping in mind the passengers coming from rural areas. When autos coming from rural areas enter the urban area, reserve autos will be made available to the passengers as per requirement, which will prevent uncontrolled entry inside the city and maintain traffic order.
There will be less problem of traffic jam
Vice President of Muzaffarpur Metropolitan Auto Union, Jai Prakash said that this initiative of the administration will prove to be very beneficial for the city. This will reduce the problem of jam and also reduce the traffic pressure in the city. Union General Secretary Mohammad Mustafa said that at present this system has been implemented as a trial of 10 days. If any problem comes to light during this period, it will be placed before the administration.
He told that at present only the auto drivers plying in urban areas are being given routes by color coding. For this, all the necessary documents of the vehicle and driving license are also being submitted from the auto drivers, so that the rules can be ensured.
The district administration says that with this system, people will get relief from traffic jams in urban areas and traffic will become easier. Parking spaces have also been identified in different parts of the city for auto drivers. This rule will be strictly implemented after a trial of 10 days. After this, autos in rural areas will be stopped at the city limits and passengers will have to go from there to their destination via urban autos.
