Greater Noida News: Greno Authority has shown strictness on negligence in waste management in Greater Noida West. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, a fine of Rs 28.30 lakh was imposed on six bulk waste generators. Now strict action will be taken against violation of rules.
Sumit Rajput/Noida: For the residents and builders of Greater Noida West, this news is not just a fine but a reminder of responsibility. Negligence in waste management is now directly hitting the pockets. Taking a strict stance under Swachh Bharat Mission, Greno Authority has imposed a total fine of Rs 28.30 lakh on six bulk waste generators. By taking this action, a clear signal has been given to those builders and society residents that ignoring the rules will no longer be tolerated.
If there is more than one quintal of garbage, disposal is necessary.
Let us tell you that on the instructions of the Authority’s CEO NG Ravi Kumar, a special committee was formed under the leadership of ACEO Lakshmi VS, in which 15 senior officers were included. This team conducted surprise inspection of 19 bulk waste generators in Greater Noida area. Investigation revealed that Solid Waste Management Policy-2016 was not being followed in six premises. According to the policy, institutions having an area of more than 5000 square meters or generating more than 100 kg of waste per day are required to dispose of the waste within their premises.
Strict action taken against these societies
Under the action, a fine of Rs 50 thousand was imposed on Cherry County, Rs 2.01 lakh on Ajnara Lee Garden, Rs 8.06 lakh each on La Residency and Radha Sky Garden, Rs 6.44 lakh on Mayfair Residency and Rs 3.22 lakh on Vedantam Radicon. The authority has clearly warned that segregation of wet and dry waste, processing on the premises and following the rules is necessary. Not only this, if negligence of any officer or employee comes to light then action is certain against them also.
