Jaipur. In agriculture, preparations are on in full swing to spray fertilizers and medicines on crops through drone technology. Live presentation is being given so that the farmers can be made aware of the technology. After the budget announcement by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, State Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria has started the use of state-of-the-art farming facilities in the state-level programme. During this, Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria sprayed medicines with a drone in the presence of hundreds of farmers. Agriculture officials in all the districts also sprayed medicines and fertilizers in the fields with a drone called ‘mini helicopter’ on a total of 20 hectares of land to make the farmers aware. The Agriculture Minister said that in the first phase, drones are being used to promote the use of nano urea. With this, the deficiency of urea can be fulfilled.
On behalf of the Agriculture Department, a live demonstration of state-level drone technology was done by Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria on Wednesday at Joshiwas village, Jobner Jaipur. Agriculture Minister said that 1500 drones will be made available by the state government in 2 years. In this, along with 40 percent of the cost of the drone (maximum Rs. 4 lakh), a grant of maximum Rs. 6 thousand per hectare will be given for creating awareness among the farmers and for demonstration on the fields. Such farmers of the state who are not able to buy advanced and expensive agricultural equipments due to limited income, drones will be made available to them on rent. With this, farmers will be able to spray chemicals in a wide agricultural area with less cost and less time. On the initiative of the state government, chemicals were sprayed by drones simultaneously in all the 33 districts of the state.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot presented the state’s first agriculture budget in the year 2022-23 with the slogan ‘prosperous farmer-prosperous Rajasthan’. In the budget announcement, 11 missions were announced for the effective implementation of the schemes of agriculture and related sectors. The state government has developed the Rajkisan Saathi portal to give direct benefits of government schemes to the farmers. Principal Government Secretary, Agriculture and Horticulture, Dinesh Kumar said that the use of artificial intelligence and drones for agricultural work is increasing all over the world in order to give farmers more profit from low-cost farming.
Many advantages of drone technology
Agriculture Commissioner Kanaram has said that spraying with drones saves up to 70-80 percent of water as compared to conventional spraying. Deficiency of nutrients in the standing crop can be easily determined and supplied through drones. The Agriculture Commissioner said that drones are useful in better performance of works like irrigation monitoring, crop health monitoring, soil analysis, crop damage assessment and locust control along with chemical spraying.
