Muzaffarpur Sports Festival Season-3 was grandly inaugurated at LS College. A total of 4000 players are participating in this sports competition. A total of 70 events are being organized in this. Shishir Kumar and Dinesh Chandra Rai were the chief guests in the program.
Muzaffarpur. The grand inauguration of Muzaffarpur Sports Festival Season-3 took place on Thursday at LS College Sports Ground, Muzaffarpur. About four thousand players from the district as well as surrounding areas are participating in this four-day long sports festival. With the inauguration, an amazing sight of enthusiasm, energy and sportsmanship was seen in the sports field. Players, coaches and sports lovers were present in large numbers, due to which the atmosphere of the event became completely festive.
70 events included, plenty of opportunities for youth
A total of eight major sports competitions are being organized under this sports festival, which includes about 70 events. Players of different age groups are showcasing their talent in popular sports like athletics, kabaddi, kho-kho, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, tug of war and football. Participation of school, college level as well as open category players has been ensured in the competitions, due to which the youth are getting ample opportunity to showcase their abilities.
Sports is important for discipline
Bihar Sports University Vice Chancellor Shishir Kumar and Bihar University Vice Chancellor Dinesh Chandra Rai were present as chief guests at the inauguration ceremony. Both the guests jointly encouraged the players and said that such big sports events increase interest in sports among the youth and provide them a platform to hone their talent. He said that sports are not only a medium for physical development but also develop discipline, team spirit and leadership abilities.
All necessary arrangements have been made by the organizers in the sports ground. Tight security arrangements have been made during the competition, while arrangements for medical facilities, drinking water, resting places and technical support have also been made available to the players. The games are being conducted as per prescribed rules with the appointment of referees and judges.
