Himachal News: Protest of disabled people is going on in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. For the last two and a half years, the disabled have been protesting for their demands. When these disabled people tried to block the road during the protest near the Secretariat on Wednesday, they had a scuffle with the police. SDM Oshin Sharma also showed his attitude.
Shimla. In Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, the visually impaired have been protesting for the last 770 days regarding their demands like bag log recruitment and their demands. The protest is going on continuously amidst snowfall, rain, heat, cold and sunshine. On Wednesday, when visually impaired people tried to disrupt traffic in front of the State Secretariat near Chhota Shimla, they clashed with the police. During this, the police officer showed his authority and pushed with the visually impaired people who were protesting. At the same time, SDM Oshin Sharma, who reached the spot, also showed his angry attitude to the visually impaired.
When visually impaired SDM Oshin Sharma asked about the grant, he said that he knows what a grant is, I know it. He is not an idiot. During this, she was seen telling the visually impaired people to listen to her. On this a visually impaired person said that look, their bullying is extreme. However, when the visually impaired people showed their anger, SDM Osheen left the spot.
At the same time, the police officer who stopped the visually impaired people told a disabled person that if he raised his voice, his heartbeat would stop. During this, the visually impaired people raised slogans like Pension Chor Gaddi Chhod and cursed the Sukhu government. Secretary of the State Blind Association, Rajesh Thakur said that the blind people, who have been protesting in Shimla for 771 consecutive days for many demands including providing jobs from the backlog quota and increasing their pension, are now making future strategies and after December 10, the movement will be intensified. He says that he and his family members from across the state will reach Shimla and warn the government through agitation. They say that they have started a gradual fast from today and if there is no positive initiative from the government, it will be converted into a fast unto death.
Second longest strike in history
It is noteworthy that this strike of the visually impaired has been going on for 770 days. The demands of backlog recruitment and timely pension have been placed before the government. Under the banner of Blind People’s Organization, these disabled people are hoping to get justice from 25 October 2023. Earlier, visually impaired people had blocked the road outside the State Secretariat several times in these two years, but the government did not take any decision. Disabled people say that the government gives a monthly pension of only Rs 1700. But that too is available after 3-3 months. About 1200 posts are lying vacant and the government is not making any recruitment.
