Coimbatore Barauni Special Express: Begusarai’s connectivity with South India has become stronger. For the convenience of passengers, Railways has extended the operating hours of two important special trains. The operation of Coimbatore-Barauni special train (06055/06056) will now continue till 31 January and 3 February 2026 respectively. At the same time, Chennai Central-Barauni weekly special (06039/06040) will also run till the end of January 2026.
Train number 06055/06056 Special Express running from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu to Barauni in Bihar will now provide convenience to the passengers till 2026. This train passes through Erode, Salem, Vijayawada, Ranchi, Dhanbad and Kiul.
The main stoppages of the train are at Barauni and Kiul Junction, from where it is considered to be the most convenient train for South India. Local passengers have intensified their demand to run this train permanently.
Train No. 06039 Chennai Central – Barauni Weekly Special has been extended till 25 January 2026 and return train 06040 Barauni – Chennai Central has been extended till 28 January 2026. ,
This train is the only direct train service connecting Bihar and Tamil Nadu. Thousands of migrant laborers and students travel between their homes and workplaces by this train every week.
This train runs on the Coimbatore-Erode-Salem-Vijayawada-Ranchi-Dhanbad-Kiul-Barauni route. During the journey, passengers pass through seven states, which makes this train special.
Passengers of Barauni, Kiul and Jhajha station areas have demanded to convert this special train into a permanent service. He says that this train has become a ‘lifeline’ for South India.
