Talking to News 18 Local, District Agriculture Officer Sudama Mahato said that 3,237 acres of cultivable land in Gaya is barren where lemongrass cultivation is being prepared. Farmers have been sent out for training for its cultivation. Along with this the school has been run. Its usefulness has been told to the farmers. Today farmers are cultivating lemongrass on barren land. Farmers are getting profit of about one lakh rupees from one acre of cultivation. Farmers are very excited about this. The effect of this is that where earlier farmers were skeptical, today hundreds of farmers are ready to cultivate it. In the coming days, this will increase the income of the people and provide employment.
