- New feature coming in WhatsApp
- Option to listen to voice note
- No need to open chat window
According to Wabetanino, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that allows listening to voice notes when you switch to another chat. This feature was spotted on iOS beta three months ago. After this it was also seen on Android update. However, the feature tracker has finally spotted the feature once again and shared a screenshot of what it looks like.
According to the screenshot shared by Wabetainfo, you can still hear the voice note when you start listening to a voice note and open another chat window. Here you will also see a new pause button, which appears at the top of the screen.
Here you will also get the option to stop, play or dismiss the voice note. Along with this, there will also be an option of a progress bar. Currently, this feature is in the works and no official information has been shared by WhatsApp about it yet. It will be a significant update if the messaging app rolls out the feature, as as of now we can only hear voice notes as long as the chat screen is open. Once you move to another chat window, Voice Note stops.
The feature tracker says, “Global Voice Note Player will be released to beta testers. So be sure to follow our next changelog to know when WhatsApp is rolling out the feature in a new update!”
It is also being said that WhatsApp will remove the broadcast list and new group options. According to Wabetainfo the WhatsApp feature tracker messaging app WhatsApp will only keep the archived list at the top of the chat screen and remove broadcast lists and new groups.
The report states, “WhatsApp is planning to make the chat list very clean and to do so, they need to remove some UI elements. Specifically, they are planning to remove that row.” where you can open your broadcast lists and create new groups.
