Google has released a new update for Pixel phones in December 2025. Many Pixel users around the world will benefit from this update. The special thing is that Google has already rolled out a big Pixel Drop update this month, which included new features and security patches. But now the company has released another small update for some selected devices, which has been specially brought for bug fixes. This new update is also very small in size and is only about 25 to 27 MB. This means that it will be very easy to download and install and there will not be much internet cost.
Regarding this small update, Google says that it is an over-the-air (OTA) rollout. This means that every user will not get this update at once, but will gradually reach different countries and devices. According to the information received so far, users of Pixel 8, Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series have confirmed receiving this update. According to reports, this update has currently been rolled out in UK, America and some parts of India. It will be delivered to other countries in the coming days. It is often seen that some features are added in phone updates, but this time it is not so. There is no mention of any new feature in the second update of this month. Rather, Google has directly addressed the bugs that were bothering many users. This update has been released specifically to fix three major issues—
battery drain problem
Many users were complaining that after the last update, the battery of their Pixel phones was draining rapidly. Some people said that the phone was consuming more battery than necessary even in standby mode. After this new update, improvement in battery performance may be seen.
touch input issue
Pixel 10 series users were facing problems related to touch screen. The touch on the screen was not working properly, which caused a lot of trouble in daily use. Now Google claims that this problem has been fixed in the new update.
Content access problem
When some users updated from Android 14 to Android 16, they were having trouble accessing the local files and media present in the phone. This was a big problem, because many people were not able to open their data. Google has also solved this problem.
Apart from this, Google has made another big announcement, which brings relief news for Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold users. The company is going to provide extended warranty support for both these models. This warranty will be especially for those phones in which faults related to display or other hardware are found. Many users were complaining about vertical lines on the screen, flickering or display failure. In such cases Google will now provide free service.
However, the company has made it clear that the warranty extension will be applicable only on those phones which are damaged due to manufacturing fault. If the phone has fallen, the screen is broken or it has been exposed to water, then this facility will not be available. Besides, 90 days warranty will also be given on the replacement phone.
No official date has been given yet for the arrival of this warranty extension in India, but since this is a global plan, it is expected that it will be launched in India soon.
