New Delhi. Sachin Joshi, son of entrepreneur Jagdish Joshi, known as Goa Guthkha King, has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Before the arrest, the ED questioned Sachin for several hours at the Mumbai branch. According to ED sources, Sachin Joshi, who hails from Rajasthan, was called for questioning in the money laundering case involving about Rs 100 crore related to Omkar Builder on Sunday morning. During the 7-hour inquiry, when the ED found that Sachin was not giving the correct information, he was formally arrested.
After the arrest of Sachin Joshi, the police station near the ED’s Mumbai branch and its family members were informed about it. Sachin Joshi will be produced before the local court in Mumbai today, where his remand will be sought. On getting remand, ED will inquire further in the scam case. According to the ED, Kamal Gupta, owner of Omkar Builder and managing director Babulal Verma, who was involved in the fraudulent scheme related to the slum rehabilitation scheme, was arrested last month. He was arrested on Sunday evening after receiving very important evidence and statements about Sachin Joshi in his interrogation.

Sachin Joshi has been in controversies before too
Sachin Joshi has worked in many Bollywood films as well as many South Indian films. His father Jagdish Joshi is known as Goa Gutkha King. Sachin Joshi bought the controversial bungalow of fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya in Goa last year. During the auction, Sachin Joshi had paid around 73 crore rupees for that bungalow. After this, Sachin Joshi’s name came in very fast discussion.

Jagdish Joshi has also been in controversies
Sachin Joshi’s father Jagdish Joshi was accused of killing his daughter’s boyfriend in 2001. Also, the most discussed about him was in 2004, when Jagdish Joshi’s name was associated with the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his brother Anis Ibrahim. Jagdish Joshi was accused that he used to invest money in the underworld to make a gutkha factory. After this, a case under MCOCA was also registered against several accused including Jagdish Joshi. However, Jagdish Joshi was relieved after being in a lot of controversies.
