Now the Ministry of External Affairs is considering this request of the Goa Government. Luthra Brothers want to escape from their responsibility in Goa Night Club. He is shrugging off this fire. But some evidence has come to light, which clearly shows how both the brothers deliberately left the country to escape the Indian law. Yes, as soon as Luther brothers (Saurabh and Gaurav), owners of Goa night club Birch by Romeo Lane, got information about the fire, they both fled the country after booking tickets to Thailand.
When and how did Luthra Brothers escape?
According to Goa Police, Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, the main accused in the nightclub fire case, had booked the tickets at 1:17 am on Sunday, just one and a half hours after the fire broke out in the nightclub in North Goa. The first emergency call from Goa Club was made at 11:45 pm. The fire broke out on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, when around 100 people had gathered at a nightclub in North Goa. Police have arrested five staff members and Luthra’s business partner Ajay Gupta, but both the owners are absconding. According to the police, the tickets to Thailand were booked online through the MakeMyTrip platform. While the Goa Police and Fire Service were busy extinguishing the fire and rescuing the trapped people, the accused were preparing to flee the country.
Police clarified on the allegations
Police say that both the accused had fled before realizing the seriousness of the tragedy. The police have been accused of running away with the help of the police. On this the police said that the allegation of running away from help is completely false. Goa Police and all supporting agencies were carrying out rescue operations at the site throughout the night till 6:00 am, extinguishing the fire and evacuating the victims. The accused left on a 5:30 am flight, which means that they fled as soon as they were informed of the incident and before the severity of the tragedy was realised.
What was the atmosphere like when the fire broke out?
In fact, when the fire broke out around 12:04 am on Saturday night, there was a crowd of people celebrating in the nightclub. Dancing was going on on the dance floor and people were enjoying the atmosphere. A video of this has also surfaced, in which a belly dancer is dancing on the song Mehbooba-Mehbooba, when a fire breaks out. Police said that fire and emergency services were on the spot till 6 am for rescue and relief operations. However, both the accused brothers have fled to Thailand on an Indigo flight. Goa Police has started international coordination through Interpol to trace and arrest the accused as per legal procedure.
Now will the Foreign Ministry take action?
- On the other hand, the Ministry of External Affairs is considering canceling the passports of Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra, co-owners of the Goa nightclub where 25 people died in a fire on December 6.
- This step is being taken after the request of the state government. Sources said on Wednesday that the ministry has received a letter from the Goa government regarding Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra.
- He said that the ministry is examining the request for cancellation of his passport under the Indian Passport Act as per the rules.
On the other hand, the Luthra brothers had applied for transit anticipatory bail in a Delhi court. However, the court on Wednesday refused to grant interim relief and fixed the hearing on his anticipatory bail pleas for the next day. In their defence, the brothers have said that they were not the owners of the club and were only acting as licensees. In this way, Luthra Brothers have tried to distance themselves from the Goa Night Club fire and have put the responsibility on someone else.
Strange argument to avoid responsibility
The arguments given by Luthra Brothers in the court on Wednesday clearly show that they are trying to shift the responsibility for the death of 25 people in Goa Night Club to someone else. They are trying to avoid their responsibilities. During the hearing of the anticipatory bail application in the court, Luthra Brothers argued that we were not present at the spot. We had given it to someone else to take care of. Therefore we are not responsible. The accused said that action should be taken against those running that club.
