Lucknow News: General Manager Ujjwal Kumar was removed from service in Uttar Pradesh Medical Supply Corporation Limited on corruption charges. Managing Director Ujjwal Kumar took this action. Due to similarity of names, the General Manager committed irregularities in the tender process. Detailed investigation into the case started.
According to sources, many vendors had complained in writing that this General Manager level officer used to put undue pressure on them by taking advantage of the name of MD Sahib, used to give benefits to the companies of his choice and used to work by ignoring the rules. This similarity of names was creating so much confusion that many times the vendors could not understand who was talking to them – the real MD or the officer misusing the name.
Detailed investigation also started
On Monday, Managing Director Ujjwal Kumar (IAS) after investigating all the complaints, took strict action and issued an order to immediately terminate the services of this officer named in his name. A senior official of the corporation said that now a detailed investigation is being started in this matter so that any irregularities in the tenders done in the last few years can be investigated in depth. This action is being considered as another example of the Yogi government’s zero tolerance policy towards corruption and irregularities.
