‘Give the money only then the file will go ahead’, then the surveillance laid such a trap that the employee got trapped

Patna/Sasaram. The action of the monitoring department on corruption is continuing in Bihar. The latest case has come to light from Sasaram, where the surveillance team raided the Akodhi Gola BUK (Block Unit) office and arrested data operator Chandan Kumar Sharma red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹ 14,000.

According to the information, salary fixation of Akodhi Gola teacher Sunil Kumar was pending for the last one year. It is alleged that data operator Chandan Sharma was demanding bribe at the rate of ₹ 1500 per teacher to determine the teacher’s salary. The case of a total of 10 teachers was pending, in lieu of which a demand of ₹ 15,000 was made. Ultimately the deal was finalized for ₹14,000. The teachers were not ready to pay the bribe, after which they lodged a written complaint with the monitoring department. After verification of the complaint, a team was formed under the leadership of DSP Vindhyachal Prasad and DSP KC Jaiswal.

The surveillance team set the Rs 14,000 being given by the teacher as trap money and as soon as Chandan Sharma took the money, the team arrested him on the spot. The action was taken in the office located at Akodhi Gola, due to which there has been a stir in the entire education department. The complaining teacher said, “The file was on hold for one year. Money was being demanded repeatedly for determining the salary. It was said that without the money, the file would not move forward.”

Surveillance department registered a case

After his arrest, Chandan Kumar Sharma has been taken to the monitoring station, where an FIR is being registered against him under the Anti-Corruption Act. After this action, the monitoring department has indicated to keep a strict vigil on the officers of the department.
