A person feels that as long as he is young, he should work hard, because after reaching age, he will not be able to work hard enough. But the truth is that even at a young age you have to take great care of your health. We often get so engrossed in work that we do not pay attention to our health, this is the biggest mistake. A British girl also made the same mistake and had to suffer the consequences by risking her life. The girl was dead for 7 minutes because her heart stopped beating. His father brought him out of the clutches of death. All this happened because of work worries.
According to the report of Mirror website, 22-year-old Courtney Stocks, living in Derbyshire, Britain, who was leading a completely healthy and active life, suddenly became a victim of cardiac arrest. His condition was so serious that his heart stopped beating for about seven minutes. If his father had not immediately performed CPR, his life might not have been saved. This incident happened on Sunday, 16th November. Courtney was at her home, where her parents had come to meet her. Everything was normal. Was sitting and talking with the family. Meanwhile, Courtney’s father Chris Watchorn went outside to take a phone call. After a few minutes, Courtney also followed him into the garden, but suddenly fell on the ground. As soon as she heard the sound, her father came running and saw that his daughter was lying unconscious and not breathing.
Girl diagnosed with serious illness
Understanding the seriousness of the situation, the father started giving CPR without any delay. Courtney’s heart stopped for about seven minutes. Later, the ambulance team reached the spot and immediately took him to Royal Derby Hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU. After being in intensive care for three days, doctors told that Courtney was suffering from a rare heart disease since birth, named Mitral Annular Disjunction (MAD). According to doctors, MAD is a structural disorder of the heart, which can cause sudden cardiac arrest. The most surprising thing was that Courtney did not have any serious illness before. She neither smoked, drank alcohol nor had any kind of intoxicating habit.
Work stress triggers illness
She walked to work for about 20 minutes every day and took about 10,000 steps a day. She was a dog groomer by profession, which is a very physically demanding job. Courtney said that a few weeks before the incident, she sometimes felt a fast heartbeat and felt dizzy, especially while bathing, but she dismissed these symptoms as work stress and anxiety. Doctors later clarified that these symptoms could have been early signs of his heart problem. Doctors also say that although the disease was present since birth, Courtney’s work-related stress caused her to trigger cardiac arrest early. Courtney ran her own dog-grooming business, which increased her work pressure and mental stress. After several tests in the hospital, an implantable defibrillator has been installed in Courtney’s heart, so that if such a fatal attack occurs again in the future, the heartbeat can be controlled in time. Now her condition is stable and she is slowly returning to normal life.
