Gumala: Through Ayushman Card, patients get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in hospitals across the country. Under this, people from low income group families of the country get free health facilities from the government, but for that it is necessary to have Ayushman card. You can get free treatment only if you have Ayushman card. In order to ensure that all the people in the district can avail the benefit of this facility, on the instructions of Gumla Deputy Commissioner Prerna Dixit, the scope of Ayushman Card Making Campaign under Ayushman Bharat Scheme has been increased in the district so that no eligible family faces any difficulty in getting treatment.
Let us tell you that about 8.8 lakh ration card holding families live in Gumla district and till now only about 4.9 lakh families have been able to get Ayushman card. So that all other beneficiary families also get the right to this health protection, hence on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner, Ayushman Card Making Camp is being run at every PDS shop. This camp will run till 20 December 2025. Even before this, while organizing a 1-week camp, Ayushman cards of the left out beneficiaries were made in the PDS shops itself. The camp is being organized again with the aim of covering 100 percent beneficiaries under the scheme.
Arrangements have been made for making cards even during ration distribution, so that people do not need to go anywhere separately. To make the process of making the card simple and fast, one VLE has been tagged with every active PDS dealer. Along with this, Block Development Officer and Panchayat Secretary have been given the responsibility of conducting this campaign in their respective areas. At the district level, Civil Surgeon, District Supply Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and District Program Management Unit, NHM Gumla have been given the responsibility of continuous review of the progress. The entire campaign will be monitored by Deputy Development Commissioner Gumla.
Gumla Deputy Commissioner Prerna Dixit said that this special camp is being run with the aim that “not even a single eligible family should remain without Ayushman card”. Therefore, there is an appeal to all the beneficiaries to reach the camp with their necessary documents like ration card, Aadhar card and mobile number and provide the benefit of free health protection cover to their families.
