Kundan Kumar/Gaya: Heavy traffic jams have started occurring not only in big cities but also in small cities. Due to lack of proper traffic system, everyone from school children to daily commuters face a lot of problems. Due to this, road accidents also increase. On the other hand, people’s time and money are also wasted in traffic jams. In traffic jams, if vehicles start for hours or move slowly, it also increases pollution. In such a situation, to improve and modernize the traffic system of Gaya district, it has been included in the Chief Minister’s Safe Well-Governed City Scheme. Now it will get a new look. Under this, the Municipal Corporation has taken important steps. Keeping in mind the increasing traffic pressure, road accidents and improvement in monitoring system, new technical facilities will be installed at various major places of the city. Its work will also start soon. In this regard, many important decisions were taken after detailed discussion in the review meeting held under the chairmanship of Municipal Commissioner Kumar Anurag in the Municipal Corporation office.
It was decided in the meeting that under the “Chief Minister Safe Well-Governed City” scheme, modern traffic signal lights will be installed at eight major intersections of the city. With the arrival of these signal lights, traffic management is expected to improve significantly. At present, due to lack of signal, drivers have to face problems, which increases the possibility of traffic jams and accidents. The new signal system will include features like timing control, sensor based operation and emergency vehicle identification, which will ensure smart traffic management.
Along with this, it has been decided to install high-resolution CCTV cameras at 75 public places in the city to strengthen crime control and monitoring of public places. With the help of these cameras, not only will crowded areas be monitored, but quick action will be possible in case of any incident. The Municipal Commissioner directed the officials that the location of the cameras should be decided in such a way that maximum area can be covered and there is no hindrance in surveillance.
Municipal Commissioner Kumar Anurag said that improving the security and traffic system of Gayaji city is the priority of the corporation. He also clarified that a separate control room will be created for the operation of these technical facilities, which will remain active 24 hours. The control room will not only monitor but will also give immediate information to the police department if needed.
