Winter season is challenging for plants. Due to cold winds and less sunlight, plant growth slows down and flowers appear less. According to agricultural expert Dr. Avnish Kumar Mishra, with proper care and some home remedies, the garden can be kept green and beautiful even in winter. Let us know some such important tips…
Light morning sunlight is very beneficial for plants in winter. According to Dr. Avnish Kumar Mishra, this provides energy to the plants and increases their growth. If the plants are in too much shade, then keep them in a place where sunlight can reach easily. This increases the growth of plants.
In winter, plants should be watered less but regularly. According to Dr. Avnish Kumar Mishra, the soil does not dry quickly in winter because the sunlight is mild and the soil remains moist. Therefore, water lightly using drip method or spray. Before watering, check the moisture of the soil. If there is moisture in the soil, do not water. By giving the right amount of water, the plants avoid rotting and remain healthy.
Care of plants is very important. Dr. Avnish Mishra explains that if you do not monitor your garden, you will not know which plants are deteriorating or drying up. If disease is seen in any plant, immediately remove it from the garden and throw it away. By doing this your garden will remain green and healthy even in winter.

Use home made fertilizer. Dr. Avnish Mishra tells that vermi compost, organic manure or green manure should be used in the garden and chemical fertilizers should be avoided. Chemical fertilizers degrade the quality of soil and harm plants. Using kitchen items like tea leaves, buttermilk, neem leaf water or light cow dung manure strengthens the roots of the plants and produces more flowers.
Clean the leaves regularly. In winter, dust accumulates on the leaves, due to which less sunlight reaches. Cleaning the leaves with a cloth or brush once a week will keep the plant looking fresh and new buds will appear quickly.
