Shimla Weather Update: Shimla is already buzzing with New Year celebrations. Hotel booking is increasing rapidly in Mall Road, Ridge Ground and Kufri. Along with enjoying the clear weather, tourists are also hoping that around New Year the weather will turn and there will be snowfall, so that their celebration can become more memorable. At present, clear weather and cold have kept Shimla attractive for tourists, while everyone’s eyes are fixed on the possible snowfall at the end of the year.
Shimla : This news is important for the tourists coming to Shimla to enjoy the winter and hope for snowfall on New Year celebrations. The weather in Shimla is pleasant these days. The weather remains clear in the capital, but the effect of cold is increasing continuously. According to the Meteorological Department report, on December 18, the minimum temperature of Shimla was recorded at 11 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 21 degrees Celsius. There has been no rain in the last 24 hours and the humidity in the air is also low, due to which the day remained sunny.
According to the 7-day forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, the weather in Shimla is likely to be mainly clear to partly cloudy from December 18 to 23. During this period, the minimum temperature can remain between 8 to 11 degrees and the maximum temperature can remain between 18 to 21 degrees. At present no weather warning has been issued.
Meteorologist Sandeep Kumar Sharma at Meteorological Center Shimla said that during the last 24 hours, clear weather has been reported across the state. During this period, maximum temperatures across the state have been recorded above normal. Shimla’s temperature was reported at 20.5 degrees Celsius, which is 6 degrees above normal. Apart from this, the maximum temperature recorded in Kalpa was 17.3 degrees Celsius which is 8 degrees more than normal. Apart from this, the maximum temperatures in the lower areas of the state have also been recorded 3 to 4 degrees above normal.
However, due to the drop in night temperatures in the mountains and continuous cold winds, the possibility of snowfall in the higher reaches is not being completely ruled out. This is the reason why the movement of tourists has increased in the hope of seeing snow in Shimla and surrounding areas before the New Year.
